Abstract
After a brief definition of terms (what are bioplastics?), this lecture will discuss various material and application examples for biobased and/or biodegradable plastics. An overview on the topic of organic recycling (compostability, biodegradability) will be given. Finally we discuss the microplastics issue and the degradation of plastics in the ocean.
