Lung cancer is the most common cancer worldwide. It is the leading cause of cancer death and the second most diagnosed cancer in both men and women in the United States. Smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer. Raising awareness around the risks and causes of lung cancer can lower the number of people affected by it. The most important thing you can do to reduce your lung cancer risk is to quit smoking. We already see the effect of the anti-smoking campaign, after decades of increased lung cancer incidences, rates are now decreasing as fewer people smoke cigarettes.
