With growth in the medical (and recreational) cannabis industry comes great opportunity. And people from different trades have become more and more interested in working in cannabis.
But what kinds of jobs are there in the cannabis industry? Well, the breadth of cannabis jobs range from “seed to sale,” which starts with growing the cannabis plant, processing extracts and oils, packaging and transport, and finally marketing and education. While cannabis experience is often preferred, many people learn as they go while applying skills they’ve acquired from previous jobs.
Some of the most popular jobs are growers and trimmers (cultivate and grow the cannabis plant), budtenders (assist customers with purchases), sales reps (sell products to dispensaries), extraction technicians (distill oils and extracts), edible makers (create cannabis-infused food and drinks), and dispensary managers (coordinate the business side of the industry).
