A good run does wonders to boost your physical and mental health. But the high-impact activity is not without adverse effects. Whether you're training for the next marathon or you're just a habitual runner, long-term running can cause your feet some serious pain.
Running puts about seven times the amount of stress from body weight, as compared to when you're just walking. This means that, with time, running can lead to a variety of inflammatory reactions on your feet, including heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, and tendinitis. Even worse, the repeated stress could lead to bone fractures that are more complicated to heal. You can eliminate some of the physical stress inflicted on your feet by purchasing and wearing the best boots for plantar fasciitis.
It's hard to completely eliminate the physical stress on your feet from running though, but good shoes with appropriate support and cushion could help absorb some of the shock that would otherwise go straight to your feet. And as always, too much of anything can be a bad thing - so, do give your feet a break from running every so often.
