Are you a believer in the powers of Vitamin D? If you're like me, catching some rays is a really important mood booster in your life - but what exactly is the science behind the effects of Vitamin D? Though Vitamin D was traditionally thought to be a bone-building vitamin, new research shows that its capacities extend much farther in our physiology and that every cell in the body has Vitamin D receptors. 

Vitamin D is responsible for activating genes that regulate neurotransmitters which directly affect brain growth and development. A lack of Vitamin D is linked to low moods and depression, gastrointestinal problems like IBS, low immune systems, aching bones, hypertension, and more.
