Nature magazine reports that scientists have discovered a piece of space debris that is set to enter Earth's atmosphere on November 13th 2015. The object, dubbed WT1190F, will likely entirely burn up in Earth's atmosphere as it gets closer to us. Any pieces that survive are expected to land in the Indian Ocean, roughly 40 miles off the coast of Sri Lanka, at 6:20 UTC.
It's not clear how old the object is or if it's a part of a satellite, or other piece of space equipment but scientists are confident it's manmade. It was first detected by the Catalina Sky Survey in 2013, and spotted again through a telescope this month. The impact date of Friday the 13th has started some wild speculating, but scientists say it's unlikely it's the end of days and are sure that it's just another piece of space junk.
