Call for Abstracts
MHSR 2022 is intended to highlight current scientific efforts to improve population mental health through high-impact mental health services research, consistent with NIMH Strategic Research Priorities, particularly Strategic Objective 4: “Strengthen the Public Health Impact of NIMH-Supported Research” (see: Strategic Research Priorities Overview). This Call for Abstracts solicits symposia, posters and Forecasting the Future of Mental Health Research. Please submit your abstract following the instructions below.
Abstract submission deadline is May 22, 2022, at 11:59pm Eastern Time.
Topics of Interest
This Call-for-Abstracts solicits abstracts of original research on a broad range of mental health services research topics including (but not limited to) the following:
Session Types
Symposium – Symposia are 75 minutes in length. Each symposium is composed of 3 presentations that address a single topic from different perspectives or discuss several components of a research project. Presenters should emphasize the potential for their research findings to improve practice. A symposium and its presenters are introduced by the symposium Chair. A Discussant provides a brief, reflective summary of all presentations at the end of the symposium. The symposium should include ample time for discussion.
Poster Presentation – Poster sessions provide an opportunity for in-depth conversation about the research conducted and the investigators’ experiences. Each poster presenter will provide a PPT slide converted to a pdf that includes easy to read tables and graphics.
Forecasting the Future of Mental Health Services Research – This plenary will identify bold, novel approaches that move the mental health services field forward. Presentations will focus on what mental health care might look like in the future and identify strategies needed to successfully achieve proposed objectives. Selected speakers will deliver a 10-minute presentation; PowerPoint slides are optional.
For technical questions regarding your submission, please contact support@labroots.com
For scientific or programmatic questions, please contact MHSR2022@nih.gov
This plenary will address what mental health care might look like in the future and identify new strategies needed to successfully achieve these objectives. The speakers will highlight bold, novel approaches that will move the mental health services research field forward and present strategic research agendas that are poised to transform mental health care over the next decade.
This plenary will address the interests in mental health services research at several U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) agencies. Federal leaders will discuss mental health policy priorities and current opportunities for scientists to engage in mental health services research supported by their agencies.
