Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that is created by melanocyctes that have mutated. Melanocytes are pigment cells that are found on the skin. However, melanoma can occur in the intestines and eyes in more rare cases. Melanoma is a common form of cancer and considered the most dangerous form, there a more than 200,000 cases per year. Treatment can include: radiation, surgery, medication, or chemotherapy.
Digital spatial profiling (DSP) on the NanoString GeoMx platform enables high plex molecular profiling of clinical tissue samples. This new profiling strategy enables deep insights into the...

Surgery is the first line of treatment for Stage III melanoma. Often adjuvant therapy is administered post-surgery, which can include weeks of radiation, chemotherapy, targeted drug therapy,...
In prior work, we have pursued how tumor reactive monoclonal antibody (mAb), together with activators of innate immune cells, like NK cells, can augment antibody dependent cell-mediated cytot...
In this presentation I will describe results from a family study designed to identify the genetic cause for familial clustering of several early onset cancers. Data from next generatio...
The field of melanoma has been transformed by the parallel development of effective immune and targeted therapies. There is now strong evidence of cross-talk between oncogenic signaling...
We recently reported that HDAC6 is involved in the regulation of a number of immunosuppressive checkpoint proteins, including the Program Death Receptor Ligand 1 (PD-L1). This protein is one...

Acral lentiginous melanoma (ALM) is a rare sun-shielded melanoma subtype associated with worse survival than cutaneous melanoma (CM), a more common form of skin cancer linked to exposure to u...
We developed two computational methods, CARE and TIDE, to predict response and resistance to targeted therapies and immunotherapies. CARE infers gene signatures of targeted therapy response b...
More and more decisions will center on the ability to molecularly characterize a disease. So the molecular diagnostic laboratory will have a pivotal role. What does that look like? Will we be...
