Routine coagulation assays are widely performed in laboratories and provide valuable information to the patient’s overall clinical picture. It’s important for laboratorians to know the methodology of the assays they are performing as well as the clinical utility, particularly the prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), and the fibrinogen. This presentation will highlight the importance of this panel of routine assays in patient care.
