Our 7
th Annual Clinical Diagnostics & Research Virtual Event is just around the corner! Along with a full list of experts presenting on their fields of study, the November 2 keynote presentation will be given by Dr. Augusto A. Litonjua and Dr. Scott Weiss. This team of doctors from Harvard Medical School and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital will share their recent finding regarding vitamin D and its importance during pregnancy to help prevent two disorders.
Dr. Weiss will share their findings on the effect of vitamin D on pre-eclampsia, where Dr. Litonjua will speak about vitamin D and asthma. Both will present results from recent trials. The presentation will be followed by a live Q&A.
Dr. Litonjua is a physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, an
d is also an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. He received his medical degree from the University of the Philippines Manila. He then completed a fellowship in internal medicine and a chief medical residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. He went on to complete two additional fellowships: the first in pulmonary and critical care at West Virginia University Hospitals, and the second in pulmonary disease at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is board certified in critical care medicine, internal medicine and pulmonary disease.
He speaking partner, Dr. Weiss, is the Scientific Director of Partners HealthCare Personalized Medicine where he supervises a faculty of 6 and a staff of over 100 who are dedicated to translating the results of human genome research into clinical medical practice. His laboratory has close working relationships with the Department of Environmental Health at the Harvard School of Public Health, where he is a Professor of Environmental Health (Respiratory Biology Program), the Biostatistics Department at HSPH, the Pulmonary and Critical Care Division, and the Immunology Division, Department of Medicine, in Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
The free, two-day event will commence November 2, 2016, with compelling presentations through November 3. At the conclusion of the live presentations, a Q&A session with the presenter will be offered, as well as free CE and CME credits.
