How to choose a eco-friendly light bulb

How does that old joke go? How many people does it take to choose a light bulb? This video will give you the tips to choose your eco-friendly bulb all on your own!

There are three types of light bulbs: incandescent, compact florescent light (CFLs), and light emitting diodes (LEDs). The differences between these bulbs come in the range of watts (how much energy a bulb uses) and lumens (how bright the bulb is). CFLs use 65 to 80 percent less energy than incandescents and they last at least 10 times as long. Nevertheless, you have to be careful when you recycle these bulbs because they contain mercury. LEDs are even more efficient than CFLs, shining about 10 times longer than CFLs and 100 times longer than incandescent bulbs. That being said, both CFLs and LEDs have their own benefits for different situations depending on the brilliance you want in a space!
