The Basics of Next Generation Sequencing and its Application in Molecular Pathology

The webinar series titled "The Basics of Next Generation Sequencing and its Application in Molecular Pathology" aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals and practical applications of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) in the field of Molecular Pathology.

In Webinar 1, we will cover various applications for NGS and different aspects of comprehensive genomic tests, including variants, CNVs, rearrangements, MSI, mutational signatures, TMB, and more. Additionally, we will briefly touch on different types of tests such as ctDNA and MRD to provide a sense of the testing landscape.

Webinar 2 will focus on specimen types, specimen management, extraction, quantification, and various types of library preparation (amplicon vs. hybrid capture) for DNA. We will also include basic methods for fusion detection with RNA.

Webinar 3 will center around comprehensive genomic DNA panels. We will start with computational options and bioinformatics analysis and then delve into a discussion of reporting.

By attending this webinar series, participants will gain a more comprehensive understanding of NGS technology and its applications in Molecular Pathology. They will be equipped with the knowledge to confidently apply NGS techniques in their research or clinical settings.
