Challenges in CMV Management
Management of CMV infected and immunocompromised individuals at risk for life-threatening post-transplantation complications is critically dependent on accurate viral load testing. While the widespread adoption of international CMV standards for test calibration has improved test comparability, significant inter-assay variation among CMV tests remains.
Please join Dr. David Hillyard, Medical Director for Molecular Infectious Testing at ARUP Laboratories, in this second part of our webinar series for a discussion of recent advances in CMV test standardization and its implications for management of CMV infected patients.
Learning objectives:
1) Overview of NAT in management of CMV
2) The value of CMV test standardization
3) Recent insights into the challenge of CMV standardization and implications for other viral load tests
