In this presentation we discuss different packing technologies for Silica material in the HPLC column. The differences between fully porous and superficially porous particles (also known as Fused Core or Core shell) and the impact on the chromatographic separation are explained. We will also introduce you to Monolithic HPLC columns and the special features of this innovative Stationary Phase Silica material. For all these different packing technologies we will introduce the column families with the different functionalities available plus one application example from the Food & Beverages industry.
In addition we will also explain the HILIC separation mode and how in this mode polar analytes can be separated according to polarity in an approach with orthogonal selectivity compared to the well known Reverse Phase separations.
