Abstract
Cancer therapies dominate the drug market, generating high revenue while being critical in saving patient lives. That being said, developing a new cancer drug is both time-consuming and expensive. On average, the cost to create a cancer drug is $2.77 billion, and it typically takes 6-12 years to bring it to market. Driving this cost is the “translational gap”, where preclinical studies advancing candidates inaccurately anticipate clinical outcomes, resulting in a high clinical trial failure rate.

In this webinar, OncoSpherix, a developer of first-in-class oncology treatments, will discuss how they used AI to reveal insights into pharmacokinetic anomalies associated with their initial lead compound and understand metabolic influences on the candidate’s mechanism of action. With this valuable information, OncoSpherix guided the development of their lead compound toward a promising prodrug variant with higher likely success characteristics for clinical use.

In this webinar, attendees will learn…
  • The challenges that first-in-class cancer drug development is rife with, and ways to utilize AI to overcome these hurdles to successfully bring a cancer drug to the clinic.
  • OncoSpherix’s journey in identifying the role of metabolic processes in the drug candidate’s mechanism of action, including challenges that were presented and resolved, as well as the methods used.
  • What business outcomes drug developers can expect to see by using AI to reveal such insights during the drug development process, specifically by identifying the metabolism related interactions, especially in instances where the metabolites might be more effective than the initial drug candidate itself.

Webinars will be available for unlimited on-demand viewing after live event.
