Abstract

Time: 5:00am (PDT),  7:00am (CDT), 2:00pm (CEST)

Despite the availability of an effective vaccine, "no" country is on track to reach hepatitis B virus (HBV) elimination goals. HBV infections are often asymptomatic and are therefore under treated. Lack of disease awareness and failure to identify infected individuals remains an important driver of late-stage cirrhosis and liver cancer(1). This webinar aims at strengthening the importance of proper and timely diagnosis, highlights the critical role and clinical relevance of HBV serological markers, and shares strategies to bridge significant gaps in viral hepatitis testing. A panel discussion with hepatitis experts will discuss the clinical, economic, and public health benefits of universal screening and what tests should be used to help accelerate and achieve elimination goals.
