It’s a new year and LabRoots, Inc. is pleased to bring you new developments in science.  First up for 2018 is the Laboratory Animal Science (LAS) virtual conference! This year marks the 7th two-day international event hosted by LabRoots, and will take place on February 7th and 8th, 2018. The conference has been thoughtfully planned by the LAS Planning Committee, led by Dr. Szczepan Baran, Global Head of Animal Welfare and Compliance Training at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and composed of more than 20 world-renowned experts. The LAS 2018 virtual conference will bring together scientists, students, veterinary technicians, veterinarians, technical support staff, IACUC administrators and committee members, as well as training and compliance personnel from around the world to discuss recent advances and challenges within laboratory animal science. New developments regarding animal models in disease research and interpretation of animal research to human medicine are only some of the engaging topics to be presented at the conference. This year’s theme is Laboratory Animal Research in 21st Century, with the following tracks:

• Modernization of Animal Studies
• Imaging and Animal Studies
• Balancing Risk and Opportunities of Outsourcing Animal Research
• Refinement

As with all LabRoots virtual events, participants can view webinars of choice, chat with speakers and peers online, browse virtual exhibits and submitted posters, and earn continuing education credits. The conference is approved by the American Association of Veterinary State Boards for Continuing Education for veterinarians and veterinary technicians to receive RACE CE credits, and will also meet AALAS and CALAS continuing education criteria.
