Immune signatures describe specific combinations of immune mediators, including immune cells, cytokines, chemokines, and proteins, which are associated with a particular medical condition or prognosis. Immune signatures can also be used to determine the best course of treatment for a patient in an effort to develop personalized medicine regimens.

Date: November 13, 2020 10:00am PST, 1:00pm EST Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is currently a global pandemic, but human immune responses to the virus remain poorly understood....
Soluble cytokine biomarkers are the master regulators of cell-to-cell communication-- the means by which one cell tells another what to do or where to go. Determining the biomarker signature...
Tumor phenotypes are dictated not only by the neoplastic cell component, but also by the tumor microenvironment (TME), which is inherently immuno-suppressive, is equipped to hamper effector...

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a global health threat, affecting over 10% of the world population, including an estimated 37 million Americans. Importantly, glomerular diseases account for...
The host response to infection is a critical determinant of virus pathogenicity. Emerging viruses require the host cellular machinery to replicate and successfully infect new hosts, and must...
Influenza severity is determined by the interplay between the virus and the host response. Previously, we identified a three-pronged lung gene expression signature that predicted severe infl...

Brain malignancies can either originate from within the CNS (gliomas) or invade from other locations in the body (metastases). A highly immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) influen...
A key step in the clinical production of CAR T cells is the expansion of engineered T cells. To generate enough cells for viable adoptive cell therapy, cells must be robustly stimulated, whi...
Immune checkpoint therapies targeting the CTLA-4 and PD-(L)1 pathways have been largely clinically disappointing for patients with prostate cancer. This can be attributed to the highly immun...
