    BIOGRAPHY

Abstract
The presentation "Introduction to Liquid Biopsies for Precision Oncology" by Simon Heeke, PhD, provides an overview of the use of liquid biopsies in cancer treatment and monitoring. It highlights the advantages of liquid biopsies over traditional tissue biopsies, such as being minimally invasive and offering real-time insights into tumor biology through various samples like blood plasma. The presentation discusses the detection of actionable mutations using circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and RNA (ctRNA), and the correlation of liquid biopsy results with treatment response and resistance. Additionally, it addresses the expanded access and rapid turnaround times that liquid biopsies offer, as well as their application beyond blood samples, including cerebrospinal fluid and fine needle aspiration supernatants
